Day 3: Alpine Meadows

I ventured around the east side of the lake after dinner with Michael and Nicole, and went to a house that Javier used to rent in Truckee. When I got there the heat wasn’t working, and it was 38 degrees in the house. I lit the furnace in the living room, and slept in my sleeping bag in front of it – sort of like camping. Alpine got another foot of snow, bring the 7 day reported total to 78″. The quality was really good, and Javier, Jeff and I got some pretty good turns in on Yellow Chair, Rob’s Peril and Gunner’s Knob. Best day of the season so far.
